The Flying Dutchman Foundation is a community organization dedicated to promoting autism awareness, inclusion, and acceptance. For more than 25 years, individuals with autism and other disabilities have proudly participated in events with the Flying Dutchman Foundation, helping to spread awareness and celebrate the abilities of individuals of all backgrounds. As part of our commitment to inclusion, individuals with special needs are invited to march with the Flying Dutchman Foundation free of charge in parades throughout the Philadelphia area. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate, be included, and experience the joy of being part of a community.

Several years ago, the Flying Dutchman began raising funds to support autism awareness and research. In 2017, the organization officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing us to further our mission of supporting individuals and families affected by autism.

Throughout the year, we participate in a variety of awareness and fundraising activities, including our Christmas light display as part of the Miracle on South 13th Street and our Flying Dutchman tent, which can be found at various events throughout the Philadelphia area.

Funds raised through these activities are donated to organizations and programs dedicated to autism research, education, and awareness. Past recipients include the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Center for Autism Research, the AJ Drexel Autism Institute, and other organizations working to make a difference in the autism community.

We are proud to bring people together, promote acceptance and inclusion, and support efforts that improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families.
